Bengali Community Celebrates New Year:1430

South Australian Bangladeshi Community Asso ciation ( SABCA) has celebrated Bangladeshi new year 1430 today in South Australia. South Australia’ s premier’s message reads, “ Bangla New Year is a time for loved ones and neighbours to to be together, celebrating the many blessings of life and looking ahead to brighter future.” He wished a safe celebration to
culturally thriving Bengali community. In the program, organised at the Thebarton community hall , there was presence of leader of opposition – Liberal party leader of South Australia Hon. David Spiers , memener of legislative council Hon. Jing Lee and the programme was chaired by MD Asaduzaman . SABCA has been organising such festivals in South Australia In promoting Bangladeshi food and culture since 2002 , Chief editor of the SABCA bulletin Showvonick Datta says, ‘Such festivals are key in exposing new new generations to their cultural roots. A Bengali community school is also in operation in SA through which SABCA runs literacy and numeracy course to students of its community.
